New and updated vehicle models
Deeper precision with updated charge curves for Hyundai, Kia, Tesla, and more.
At A Better Route Planner, we are constantly refining our models to reflect the reality of EV driving. Our latest update brings a significant set of new vehicles and, more importantly, crucial adjustments to charging and consumption data based on real-world performance.
ABRP's January update adds new BMW, Polestar, and VW models, while introducing critical real-world charging curve and consumption updates for Hyundai, Kia, Tesla, and Toyota/Lexus/Subaru vehicles.
New Vehicle Additions
We've expanded our database to include the BMW i5 eDrive40, multiple Polestar 4 configurations (Long Range Dual and Single Motor), and the latest Volkswagen ID lineup including the ID.7 Pro/Pro S, and refreshed ID.4 GTX and ID.3 models.
Charge Curve Refinements
Real-world data has allowed us to polish the charging profiles for several key models. The BMW i7 M70 xDrive now features a more accurate curve shape, while the Tesla Cybertruck has been updated with data from early charging examples. We've also updated the entire Volkswagen ID series to reflect improvements by model year.
HMG E-GMP Platform Updates
A notable change affects RWD models from Hyundai (IONIQ 5/6) and Kia (EV6/EV9). We've discovered differences in 400V to 800V conversion efficiency for RWD variants compared to AWD, and have updated our trip planning logic to account for this variation.
Consumption Adjustments
The e-TNGA platform vehicles, including the Lexus RZ 450e, Subaru Solterra, and Toyota bZ4X, have had their consumption models slightly adjusted upward to better align with real-world energy usage.
